Outreach Workshop for Medical Practitioners on Jellyfish Sting Management
An outreach workshop for medical practitioners on jellyfish sting management was organised on 7th September 2026 at the Ramanathapuram District Hospital in association with Ramanathapuram Government Medical College Hospital to sensitise doctors. The workshop has been designed to enhance medical practitioners’ understanding of jellyfish species, explain envenomation categories and improve hospital responses to jellyfish stings and related incidents. The Head of the Department of Medicine Dr. Brinda; Dr Nivetha, Associate Professor from the Department of Dermatology and twenty doctors participated in the workshop. Dr. K. Vinod, Principal Scientist & Head of the Mandapam Regional Centre, convened the workshop, which was co-ordinated by Dr. R. Saravanan, Dr. S. Thirumalaiselvan and Dr. M. Rajkumar.
