Focus of Research:

Fish genetics with a focus on phylogenetics and transcriptomics

Background:

Graduated in Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F. Sc) from Kerala Agricultural University and completed Masters in Fish Genetics and Biotechnology (M.F. Sc) from Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai. Completed Ph.D. with CSIR-UGC fellowship at CUSAT. The topic of research was “Genetic divergence in lobsters (Crustacea: Palinuridae and Scyllaridae) from the Indian EEZ. Qualified ARS in the ‘Fish Genetics and Breeding’ discipline

  • PhD (CSIR-UGC) in Marine Sciences at CUSAT
  • M.F. Sc in Fish Genetics and Biotechnology from CIFE, Mumbai
  • B.F. Sc from Kerala Agricultural University

1. Genetic and Genomic approaches for fishery resource management, conservation, and sustainable mariculture

2. Development of hatchery technologies for commercially important species in mariculture

3. Popularizing Eco-friendly Molluscan Farming Strategies

4. Sea ranching of Green tiger shrimp (Penaeus semisulcatus) Post Larvae (PL) in Palk Bay and Gulf of Mannar, Tamil Nadu, for sustainable shrimp production
