Women Farmers Sensitized on Organic Farming, Balanced Fertilizer Use and Rainwater Harvesting Under Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav Programme

Under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav programme, Dr. Kurva Raghu Ramudu, Scientist (Team leader) along with team members Dr. Sonali and Dr. Praveen visited Kinner Village Panchayat Office and subsequently interacted with farmers in nearby agricultural fields. During the visit, the team met women farmers engaged in arecanut farming and vegetable cultivation through the use of cow dung-based organic farming practices. The team appreciated their eco-friendly farming methods and provided technical guidance on the balanced and judicious use of fertilizers while discouraging the indiscriminate application of chemical fertilizers. Awareness was also created among the women farmers regarding the importance of balanced nutrient management and rainwater harvesting for the safe and sustainable use of water resources in agriculture.
