ICAR-CMFRI Organises Awareness-cum-Stakeholders Meeting at Tharangambadi, Mayiladuthurai.

The Mandapam Regional Centre of ICAR-CMFRI organised an awareness-cum-stakeholders meeting at Tharangambadi in the Mayiladuthurai district on 19 June 2026.

The programme included technical sessions on fishery resource conservation, sustainable and responsible fisheries management, and jellyfish sting management. Around 30 fishermen and representatives of the fishermen’s association participated in the interactive programme and shared their fishing experiences. Various issues and challenges faced by the fishers of Tharangambadi were discussed among the stakeholders, with a focus on identifying appropriate measures for sustainable fisheries development and the effective conservation of marine resources.
