Background:

After obtaining masters in Veterinary Pathology in 1992, served as Assistant Professor of Veterinary Pathology at the College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Kerala Agricultural University, Trissur from 1994 to 1997 before joining as Scientist at the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR), Kochi. Worked at the Calicut Research Centre of CMFRI from 1997 to 2008, Vizhinjam Research Centre from 2008 to 2009 and Karwar Research Centre from 2009 to 2016. Presently working at CMFRI head quarters, Kochi. Awarded Ph.D from Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar during the year 2008 in the subject of veterinary Pathology for the thesis entitled Pathobiological studies of Vibrio alginolyticus biofilm on the defense functions and disease resistance in Giant tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) Current research thrust is on isolation, identification and characterization of marine fish pathogens, development of diagnostics and marine cage aquaculture.
