• Library registration is mandatory to become a library member for CMFRI staff. 
• Textbooks, printed materials and other personal belongings are not allowed to take inside the library.
• Using Cellular phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphones is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
• Enter name and signature in the register kept at the entrance counter before starting library reference.
• Books and other materials taken out of the library should be shown to the staff at the entrance counter.
• The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
• Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
• Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken inside the library.
• Silence is to be maintained.

Admission to Library ::

Other Institutional staff, scholars and students are allowed to use CMFRI library only on production of an authorized letter from their institutions/valid Identity Cards. 

Working Hours of the Library ::

• Monday to Saturday - 9.30 am to 4.30 pm
• Lunch Hours - 1.00 pm to 1.30 pm
• The Library is closed on all Second Saturdays, Sundays and Government Holidays.

Circulation ::

Issue System ::

Books/Journals will be issued to the user on presentation of the library Identity card issued from the Library. All are instructed to check the books while borrowing and are responsible for any kind of damage or mutilation noticed at the time of return.

Overdue Charges ::

Books will be issued to the borrowers for 30 days only. Fine will be charged @ Re.1 per day per book from the due date till the book is returned to library.

Book Lost ::

If the books/Journals are lost, then the borrower shall replace the books/Journals of the same edition or latest edition or pay double cost of the book after getting permission from the librarian.

Care of library borrower cards ::

Take special care to maintain the library borrower cards.  Do not fold, alter entries made on the cards, members are responsible for the library borrower card issued to them.

Loss of Library cards

Loss of Library Identity card should be reported to the librarian in writing. A fresh replacement card may be issued on a payment of Rs.50/-.

Validity of Library Identity cards ::

Library Identity cards are valid up to the completion of respective academic/projects/Retirement date only. At the end of the academic/projects completion/retirement date library identity cards shall be returned to the library.

No due Certificate ::

Each student/scholar/staff shall obtain No dues Certificate from the library after returning all the books issued in his/her name and surrendering the identity card after paying outstanding dues, if any.

Care of Library Books ::

Users are required to handle the books/ Journals very carefully; marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, tearing the pages or mutilating the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case reader shall be held responsible unless these are brought to the notice of the library staff at the time of issue.

Reference section ::

Encyclopedia, dictionaries, Text books, Reports, Rare Volumes and other reference books available for reference. User can make use of these resources within the Library.

Journal Section ::

The latest issues of current periodicals are displayed alphabetically on display rack. Bound volumes of journals are arranged in the stack room.

Sale and Distribution of CMFRI Publications ::

Sales and distribution of Indian Journal of Fisheries and CMFRI Publications viz. Special Publications, Bulletins, CMFRI Books, CMFRI Newsletter (Cadalmin) , MFIS and other publications are done from the library.
