Activities

  • Assessment of fisheries (gear-wise catch-effort, species composition) of pelagic resources from various fishery centres along the Indian coast.
  • Conduct studies on the biology of major commercial pelagic finfish resources (oil sardine, mackerel , anchovies, Bombay duck, carangids, ribbonfishes, seerfishes, tunas and cobia)
  • Stock assessment of pelagic fishery resources
  • Participation in exploratory surveys and collection of vessel based sea truth  data
  •  Faculty for training programs in finfish taxonomy and fish stock assessment
